PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT

PLEASE NOTE: Slater Avenue is a proposed development subject to change until approved by the Fountain Valley Planning Commission and City Council.

As envisioned, the Slater Avenue development includes apartment homes in a mix of studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom units with an average size of 876 square feet. There will be adequate parking spaces for both apartments and the restaurant.

The development will be tree-lined with landscaped setbacks, courtyards, multiple public seating areas and private open spaces. Lush landscaping will provide outdoor relaxation in a variety of attractive areas.

Thoughtful Design

Slater Avenue has been sensitively designed to fit within the fabric of the Fountain Valley community and will not duplicate the very dense, "zero-setback" apartment developments in neighboring communities.
 

Designed to mitigate surrounding neighborhood impacts, the development will offer:

 

  • Self-contained onsite move-ins and move-outs

  • Designated ride-share pick-up area

  • On-site trash collection for all residences

  • Designated bicycle parking and storage

  • Integrated sustainability features to ensure a reduced environmental footprint.

The proposed Slater Avenue development will activate the northeast corner of Slater Avenue and San Mateo Street with a modern restaurant and bar, and a walk-up kiosk-style coffee bar and café. Offering both indoor and outdoor dining in a modern and relaxed space, the restaurant will be a space where residents, visitors, passers-by and the broader Fountain Valley community can gather for dining and entertainment.

Outdoor tables and chairs in a 2,000 square foot landscaped al fresco setting will integrate exceptionally well with the indoor space to both facilitate and encourage community interaction. The mild Orange County climate lends itself to outdoor dining most months of the year. Patrons will enjoy fabulous food with a side of fresh air, people watching, and socialization – all of which will energize the space and revitalize this corner of Fountain Valley.

Separate from the restaurant, the kiosk-style coffee bar and café will encourage lingering with landscaped spaces including tables and chairs – perfect for enjoying refreshments and spending time with others.

Across the United States and on U.S. military bases worldwide, more than 4,000 Boys and Girls Clubs are changing the lives of our youth and positively affecting their future. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Huntington Valley offers seven facility-based youth centers that serve more than 11,000 youth each year. While most of the youth served come from Huntington Beach and Fountain Valley, more than 60 cities throughout the Orange County area are served by the Club each year.
